WHAT IS TANG SOO DO? It is an ancient Korean Art of empty hand and foot fighting for conditioning and self-defense. It literally translates to "Tang Open Hand Way". Although rooted in tradition, it is based upon a scientific approach in the use of the body for self-defense. It accents the passive, rather than the aggressive approach to confrontations - without relinquishing human dignity. The development of the legs and superior kicking techniques are some of the characteristics of TANG SOO DO. Essentially, TANG SOO DO has been designed to develop and individuals body, mind, and spirit. This in turn enhances one's character, integrity and respect for all living things.
